Back in September, the Chillicothe Marching Cavaliers had the opportunity to perform alongside many other High School Bands and the Ohio University Marching 110 during OU Band Day. Although it was a long, hot, and wet day, we had fun exploring the campus and watching the game! An extra bonus was getting the opportunity to see former CHS Marching Cavalier Alumna, Allison Remley (‘23) march in the 110 and our recent Professional Intern, Miss Gilbert, in her new role as Band Director at Graham High School!

Happy BANDtober! There’s only a few more days until the 50th annual Ross County Marching Band Festival! Join us on Sunday, October 4th at 3pm at Zane Trace! We’ll have great music and great food from all over Ross County!

Admission is CASH only. $5 for adults, $3 for seniors and students, free for kids 6 and under, and free for all Ross County HS Football players wearing their jerseys. We get to support them for free at their games so we wanted to give them the same discount.

Admission helps fund activities for Ross County Band members throughout the year, like bringing in amazing conductors and composers to work with our Ross County High School Honor Band! This January, we are honored to host the director of The Ohio State University Marching Band, Dr. Christopher Hoch!

If you missed out on the first round of tshirts, there will be a second round of orders following the event. There will be order forms at the festival or order online. When ordering online, choose the pick-up option and the shirts will be delivered to your school/director.

Homecoming and Alumni Night Information:

The Homecoming Game is Friday, October 9th against Washington. We look forward to welcoming back any and all Chillicothe Marching Cavalier Alumni!

There will be a MANDATORY rehearsal on Friday, October 9th from 3:15-4:30pm on the NEW Marching Band Field located on the North side of the building.

Music and materials can be found in this Google Folder. This year our alumni chart at halftime will be "Time Warp" arranged by Tom Wallace.

Alumni shirts can be ordered online through South of Columbus. All shirt orders must be placed by Friday, October 2nd in order to receive them in time for the game.

“Teamwork”- the collaborative effort of a group of people working together to achieve a common goal 🤝

When they say it takes a village- you never quite fully understand what that means until you’ve lived it. Going into our competition today, odds were already stacked against us. From weather affecting rehearsals to finishing our closer just last week- we were barely hanging on. On the way to our competition, the unimaginable happened and our marching band trailer blew out a tire 30 minutes from Tipp City. Words cannot even begin to describe the support and community from our Chillicothe family that rallied behind us. We couldn’t be more grateful for the quick thinking from our bus drivers along with our “Band Dad Heroes”, Andrew Vitatoe and Justin Fisk for changing our tire and sending us on our way. From unloading all instruments from the trailer AND getting dressed in 10 minutes, to a warm-up time that was cut in half, who would have thought we would have even made it to the stadium, let alone our performance on time.

Tonight, we simply planned to give our best. Tonight we planned to have fun. We focused on what we could do and what we could control. We adapted through a stressful situation and focused on getting the job done.

And that’s exactly what we did.

Thank you to our friends and families. Thank you to our staff. Thank you to our students. Chillicothe showed us what true teamwork and community can accomplish- and that’s exactly what this show is all about. Sometimes “winning” is well beyond the music and the marching. In this case, it was about coming together as a team. We couldn’t be more proud tonight.

The Chillicothe Marching Cavaliers are SUPERIOR and STATEBOUND! 💙✨

Last night’s game was ELECTRIC. We had so much fun performing for another packed stadium and cheering the Cavaliers on to a well fought victory against Wheelersburg.
