You might be wondering what to say to someone who’s struggling with the headlines about sexual violence.

Start with a check-in. Ask before sending an article. Listen if they want to talk, and respect it if they don’t.

Support can look like a conversation, a shared meal, a distraction, or a quiet message with no expectation of a reply. Let them tell you what feels helpful.

You don’t need to know someone’s story to offer care. give them room to choose what they share and what they need.

At WOAR, we’re here for survivors and the people who care about them.

Text or call us at 215-985-3333 for free, confidential support.

Save this as a reminder, or share it with someone who wants to offer support.

Enough with blaming survivors.
Enough with excusing sexual violence.
Enough with putting survivors on trial.

Our message is clear: survivors deserve dignity, support, and respect.
Institutions must be accountable for how they respond to sexual violence.

Enough is enough. We will keep demanding better.

If you or someone you know is struggling right now, WOAR is here to listen. Call or text us at 215-985-3333 for free, confidential support.

Today we honor the history, resilience, and rich cultures of Indigenous communities. We also recognize that Indigenous women and girls face disproportionately high rates of sexual violence, and that every survivor deserves to be heard, believed, and supported. We continue to learn, respect, and uplift Indigenous voices. If you or someone you know needs support, our hotline is available 24/7 at 215-985-3333 for immediate crisis support.

You might open your phone and find yourself thinking about something you haven’t thought about in years. Or feel angry, exhausted, or unsettled before you have words for why.

Headlines about sexual violence can bring up memories of your own experience, how people responded, and the support you needed at the time.

Some survivors will feel this deeply. Others may feel numb, disconnected, or something else entirely. There is no reaction you’re supposed to have.

You get to decide how much coverage you follow, whether you join the conversation, and what you keep private. Your experience deserves care without being shared in a comment section.

If you need support, WOAR is here to listen. Contact us at 215-985-3333 for free, confidential support.

Save this for yourself, or share it with someone who could use a little care right now.

📣 Our voices matter. Our communities matter. And taking action matters. 💜✊🏽
WOAR was proud to join community members in Philadelphia for the National Day of Action, part of a nationwide effort to stand in solidarity with Jane Doe, Kendall Francis, and survivors everywhere.

These activations brought communities together to raise awareness, amplify survivors’ voices, and call for accountability, justice, and meaningful change. Led locally by a dedicated community member, the Philadelphia rally was a powerful reminder that community action plays an important role in creating spaces where survivors are heard, supported, and believed.

At WOAR, we stand alongside survivors and advocates working toward a world free from sexual violence. We remain committed to prevention, survivor support, and building a culture of accountability and healing.

Across the country, we stand together. For Jane Doe. For Kendall Francis. For survivors everywhere. 💜

Pennsylvania survivors and advocates stand with Jane Doe.

We believe you. We support your right to seek accountability, protect your privacy, and move forward with care and dignity.

We also stand with The New York Alliance Against Sexual Violence (.alliance) and all sexual assault centers providing support to survivors across New York. We recognize the advocates who listen, help survivors explore their options, and stand beside them through difficult moments. Our solidarity extends across state lines.

Survivors deserve institutions that take reports seriously, conduct thorough investigations, and answer for how they respond to sexual violence. They deserve communities that challenge victim blaming and refuse to excuse harmful behavior.

To every survivor following these headlines: You deserve support, too. Whether you’re feeling angry, grieving, exhausted, or unsure what to feel, there is room for you and your experience.

At WOAR, we’re here for you and the people who care about you.

Enough blaming survivors. Enough excuses. Enough silence.

In the wake of deeply troubling campus sexual violence cases, we’re gathering to stand with survivors and demand better. Choosing to drink or use drugs never gives someone permission to commit sexual assault. Students deserve meaningful Title IX protections. Survivors deserve clear reporting options, timely answers, and protection from retaliation.

Join us for the Enough Is Enough: Pennsylvania Stands With Survivors Rally, in solidarity with the Women’s March Stop Sexual Violence Nationwide Day of Action.

Thursday, October 8 | Noon–1 p.m.
Pennsylvania State Capitol Front Steps, Harrisburg, PA

Together, we’ll call on institutions to earn survivors’ trust through their actions and make clear that Pennsylvania stands with survivors.

Please share and help us spread the word!
