EPA announced $2.55 million in Wetland Program Development Grant funding to nine state agencies and universities across the Mid-Atlantic region. These investments will help partners strengthen wetland programs through monitoring, mapping, restoration, research, outreach and new assessment tools—supporting cleaner water, healthy wildlife habitat and resilient wetlands.

From using drones to monitor wetlands and marsh vegetation 🚁 to improving restoration tools and providing wetland education, these projects will give states and researchers new resources to better understand, protect and manage these important ecosystems.

Reading Terminal Market has reached a huge milestone! They have composted 1 MILLION pounds – or nearly 50 dump trucks worth - of organic waste & diverted even more waste from landfills. 🎉

And there's more exciting news: Reading Terminal Market has officially become a “Feed It Onward” partner, joining EPA's initiative to reduce food waste and keep valuable resources in our communities.

The market has rescued surplus food for neighbors in need 🥕 turned food scraps into farm compost 🌱 and recycled fryer grease into clean biofuels. ♻
