During Hispanic Heritage Month, we’re highlighting Gloria Rodriguez, a bilingual Expanded Function Dental Assistant who has spent 10 years helping City dental patients feel comfortable and cared for. 🦷💙

Gloria was inspired to pursue her City career after recognizing the need for Spanish-speaking dental professionals who could help patients feel understood.

For Gloria, the most rewarding part is simple: helping people smile with confidence.

For 18 years, Rafael has helped serve Philadelphia residents, support PWD operations, and use his bilingual skills to help members of the Hispanic community feel more comfortable when resolving water issues.

For Gloria Rodriguez, a smile is about more than teeth. 😁

As a bilingual Expanded Function Dental Assistant with the Philadelphia Department of Public Health, Gloria helps provide dental care while making patients, especially kids and Spanish-speaking families, feel comfortable in the chair. After 10 years with the City, she says helping someone smile again is still an accomplishment.
