The City Controller is one of nine popularly elected offices in the executive branch of City of Philadelphia government. Connecting residents with valuable resources and services. On September 18, City Controller Christy Brady and Community Affairs Liaison Jill Henon attended and tabled at Senator Joe Picozzi's Screen & Swing Senior Expo at the Cannstatter Volksfest Verein. Earlier this month, Denise Lewis, Controller's Office Director of Community Affairs, was honored at Community Partners Day, an event hosted by Nicole Powers of the Saturday S.T.A.R.T. Program at the Philadelphia Technician Training Institute.

The event recognized individuals and organizations whose dedication has created positive change and expanded opportunities for the young people served by the program. Denise was among many outstanding community leaders celebrated for their commitment to making a difference.

Attendees also heard inspiring remarks from Senator Sharif Street, while Aissia Richardson provided support throughout the event.

We are grateful for this recognition and proud to stand alongside so many community partners who are working together to empower youth and strengthen our neighborhoods.

On this 25th anniversary of 9/11, we remember the nearly 3,000 lives lost, honor the bravery of first responders, and reflect on the resilience that continues to inspire us.

In Philadelphia, the 9/11 Memorial on the Schuylkill Banks Trail stands as a lasting tribute. It's a meaningful reminder that the impacts of that day reached communities across our nation, including our own.
