Community starts with conversation.

Recently, Mayor Cherelle L. Parker the Department of Sanitation, Office of Clean and Green City officials and community partners spent time in different neighborhoods for Block Captain Led Community Tours. The community outreach to residents, addressed concerns and sparked meaningful conversations about keeping Philadelphia clean and connected. Sometimes the best way to understand a neighborhood is to walk it.

It Can Wait!

Small choices behind the wheel can make a big difference on the ground.

Don't throw it out the window. Don't leave it on the street. Keep your trash with you until you can dispose of it properly.

Cleaner streets start with all of us. Just remember "It can wait until you get home."

The Department of Sanitation was out in full force for National Night Out. From School House Lane in East Falls to 4th & Washington Ave and Fernhill Park on Wissahickon Ave to 53rd & Chancellor St - we took part in the City's efforts to strengthen relationship between residents and law enforcement. Clean Block Officers from our SWEEP Unit and Philadelphia More Beautiful Committee shared resources with residents.

Tires don’t belong on our streets and with the Tire Round-Up Program, communities are taking action.

Bring your unwanted tires to 3rd St. and Allegheny Ave. tomorrow 9a.m. - 3p.m. and help keep Philadelphia clean by preventing illegal dumping. This citywide effort empowers block captains and community groups to remove illegally dumped tires from neighborhoods while earning funds for future projects.
