☮️ A little creativity, a whole lot of peace! 🕊️

In honor of yesterday’s International Day of Peace, we’re taking a moment to celebrate our EDEY students and their beautiful Whirled Peace: Pinwheels for Peace! creations. 🌎💙
In collaboration with the Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (ODEI), approximately 1,000 students across 10 participating EDEY schools put their creativity into action, designing pinwheels that reflect peace, community, and belonging.

Each pinwheel is a reminder that even the smallest acts of kindness, understanding, and unity can make a meaningful difference in our communities.

🎨 Swipe through to see our students’ creativity in action as they spread a little more peace, one pinwheel at a time!

Families, come celebrate with us on Monday! 🎒📚

During the 2025–26 school year, 89% of our seniors were on track to graduate, with nearly $450 million in scholarship offers and more than 6,000 graduates accepted to colleges and universities.

We’re proud of that progress, and we’re ready to build on it in the 2026–27 school year from Day One.

Our Neighborhood Community Action Centers will be at schools in every Council district with DJs, resources and plenty of excitement as we welcome our students back.

Thank you to our teachers, principals, school staff and everyone who will be there for our young people this year, including Philadelphia Federation of Teachers, Local 502 CASA, the School Police Association of Philadelphia, 32BJ SEIU, Unite Here Local 634, School District of Philadelphia, Philadelphia Board of Education and all of our education partners across the city.

We are excited about what this year can be for Philadelphia’s students. Let’s get it started together! 💙💛
