June and July were filled with service, connection, wellness, learning, and community engagement across Philadelphia.
The work of the Mayor’s Office of Muslim Engagement and the Mayor's Commission for Muslim Engagement is guided by Mayor Parker’s priorities of building a Safer, Cleaner, Greener Philadelphia with access to Economic Opportunity for All. Our By Any Means Transformation Initiative helps organize and advance this work through spiritual liberation, liberatory education, economic liberation, community safety and healing, and global vision and local power.
Highlights included:
• Sakinah in the City: 2nd Annual Muslim Mental Wellness Summit, with more than 100 attendees and 15 community, health, and wellness resources. Thank you to AlHidaya Islamic Center, City officials, presenters, volunteers, and resource partners.
• A community discussion with the Citizens Police Oversight Commission.
• Domestic Violence Awareness Training for Imams and Community Leaders with the Peaceful Families Project.
