I have been the general motions judge since the start of October and today was a particularly special day because a CCAC Paralegal Class made it a featured motions day.
From time to time, high school students, college students, and law school students visit general motions to see how our courts function and how attorneys practice law.
General motions is an ideal place to get a birds-eye view of the justice system because of the volume and breadth of matters the Court hears and the style and manner of the arguments made by the parties.
I am so appreciative of the opportunity to meet with the students and future paralegals, enjoyed the question and answer session we had after motions ended, and was joined by some for a non-jury trial I presided over in the afternoon.
