What would you do if you were trapped on an island with a one-eyed giant or had to outsmart a witch who turns men into pigs?

That's the world of The Adventures of Ulysses, a new 10-week program at Hubworks for grades 5-8. While kids get pulled into one of the greatest adventure stories ever told, they're also building real skills: reading comprehension, critical thinking, and confidence discussing big ideas out loud.

Led by Martin Richter, a retired NHSD gifted education instructor, this class is a fun, low-pressure way for your child to grow as a thinker and a reader.

Tuesdays, 3:30-4:30 PM, starting September 15. 10 sessions, completely free. Space is limited to 10 students.

New program: The Adventures of Ulysses

Grades 5-8 are invited to explore Homer's Odyssey with retired NHSD gifted education instructor Martin Richter. Students will read Bernard Evslin's retelling, The Adventures of Ulysses, as they dig into Ulysses' (Odysseus') encounters with the Cyclops, Circe, the Sirens, and more, and explore timeless questions about resilience, decision-making, and leadership.

Tuesdays, 3:30-4:30 PM, starting September 15. 10 sessions. Space is limited to 10 students, so register early.
