This is Nika, a roughly 7 year old,spayed female, brown and black tiger with some white under her chin and white paws Domestic Medium hair. Nika went missing on 8/8, from the Newell St. Lakewood Dr. area in Pittsfield. Nika was wearing a Seresto collar and is microchipped. UPDATE: OWNERS PICKED UP THEIR REMAINS, THANK YOU EVERYONE!

Female, black, Domestic Shorthair cat wearing a Seresto collar, no microchip was found yesterday morning 8/13, on West St. after likely having been hit by a car. Unfortunately, the cat did not make it, and her remains were transported to the Berkshire Humane Society.

Shout out to the ONLY PERSON I saw today with their dog on leash at Kirvin Park! I saw so many people, who will all be getting citations, that blatantly had their dogs off leash, right in front of me, even though there are at least 8 signs saying ALL PETS MUST BE ON A LEASH.

Then one gentleman came with a black and tan Shiba Inu and kept his dog on leash!! Kudos to you, I wish I could give you a proper shout out for following the rules!! Why can't everyone be this amazing? The park is for everyone to enjoy and people should not have to worry about off leash dogs. Let's respect the people walking, playing basketball, riding bikes and playing disc golf.

Neutered male, black Domestic Shorthair cat wearing a Seresto collar (see attached photos), no microchip, was found injured on Strong Ave. on the evening of 7/20.

UPDATE, YODA HAS FINALLY BEEN REUNITED WITH HIS FAMILY!! Thank you everyone! 🐾🦎

Please be on the lookout for Yoda, a roughly 5 year old, 3.5-4 foot Red Iguana that is orange/green in color and went missing 2 weeks ago in the Tyler St. and Pine St. area of Pittsfield. There have been sightings of Yoda, but he has not been located.

If you see Yoda, please contact the Berkshire Humane Society (413) 447-7878 or the Pittsfield Police Department Animal Control Unit at 413-448-9750 immediately.

DO NOT ATTEMPT TO GRAB YODA BY HIS TAIL!! As this could injure him. Yoda likes to climb high up in trees, but also likes to dig and burrow. If located, some of Yoda's favorite treats are watermelon, strawberries and banana. Yoda also eats lettuce, spinach and kale.

LET'S TALK BIRDS!!! 🐣🐦🐦‍⬛

Many young birds are fledging their nests at this time of year and sometimes fledgling songbirds can trick people into thinking they need help. Rest assured, the majority of the time, they are not injured or orphaned – they are just awkward.

If the bird is mostly feathered, it is a fledgling and should be left alone as it learns to hop, forage, and eventually fly. The parents are usually nearby and waiting for you to leave before they check on their young.

If you find a bird that is an unfeathered hatchling, it can be returned to the nest so it can continue to receive parental care. If you can't find the nest, you could create an artificial nest by securing a small basket or container to branches in a nearby tree or shrub so the parents can find and care for it. Make sure it has drainage and is filled with some type of natural nesting material.
