The CCIDA was pleased to attend the North Country Chamber of Commerce Business Expo yesterday at SUNY Plattsburgh alongside more than 50 businesses and organizations from across the region.

From discussions on AI and cybersecurity to workforce and economic development, the Expo highlighted the innovation, collaboration, and entrepreneurial spirit that continue to drive the North Country forward.

Members of the CCIDA recently joined Clinton County Legislators for a tour of the Champlain Valley Educational Services Technical Training Center as it prepares to open this fall.

This state-of-the-art facility was made possible through tax-exempt bond financing facilitated by the Clinton County Capital Resource Corporation and land acquisition support from Clinton County, which will help train the next generation of our local workforce.

A great example of partnership and investment in Clinton County’s future.

Today, the CCIDA announced the first approved project under our new Workforce Development Program in partnership with Clinton Community College and the Institute for Advanced Manufacturing at Clinton CC.

Businesses are no longer just looking for sites-they are looking for a skilled and ready workforce.

This initiative gives us another important tool in our economic development toolbox as we continue supporting employers and building opportunity throughout Clinton County.

This is just the beginning.

The new site provides a modern, user-friendly platform to better showcase Clinton County’s available properties, workforce strengths, infrastructure, incentives, and economic development opportunities.

The redesign also improves access to applications, public documents, featured projects, and strategic initiatives including C-BIG and Bluff Point Campus redevelopment efforts.

Executive Director Molly Ryan joined Billy Jones, VP for Strategic Initiatives and Workforce Development, along with students, instructors, and community partners, to see firsthand the hands-on training and innovation happening right here at the Bluff Point campus.

The CCIDA board members toured two projects helping shape our region’s future.

At Clinton Community College’s new nursing skills lab located at UVM Health - Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital, members saw firsthand how their investment is strengthening the healthcare workforce pipeline.

The tour also included the new George Moore Building, home to CCC programs on the SUNY Plattsburgh campus.
