Members took full advantage of the nice weather for tonight's monthly work detail. Both stations completed station chores and truck checks. The crew at Station 1 fired up the grill and cooked a feast for everyone and even delivered to Station 2. After some food and chores a few members took 322 out for some driver training and a review on drafting operations.

The Engine 322 crew was ready for a Boxing Day mutual aid run. Itโ€™s been a busy holiday for the SPFD crew responding to 6 calls since noon on Christmas Eve. We appreciate the year round dedication of our Members but we want to give them a shout out for going the extra mile leaving, friends, family, festivities and food to respond to calls in the bitter cold over the last few days. ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿป๐Ÿš’

A big shout out today to the service team at Desorcie Emergency Products for getting us back up and running quickly. Last night at 4:30PM Tower 329 failed to start for a mutual aid run. After some in house diagnosis we determined the trucks batteries had reached their end life. Only issue is to change them the cab has to raised, but in order to raise the cab the ladder has to be raised. The Desorcie Team was at Station 2 early this morning, they were able to get enough 12 volt power to run the emergency hydraulic pump, raise the ladder and then change the batteries. This was no easy, on the road service call and they had us back up and running by Noon. Thanks Guys!!๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿป๐Ÿš’

Busy day for South Plattsburgh
Early this morning, at approximately 0100, we were dispatched mutual aide to Peru for a one car roll over. 321 responded and assisted with vehicle and roadway hazards.
Around 0700, crews were dispatched mutual aide again to Peru for a possible water rescue. 32-Marine responded and the person was ultimately located on shore with no injuries.
Around 1100, crews responded to a carbon monoxide alarm, 321, 322, 324, and 329 responded. Crews investigated and found no issue.
At approximately 1400, we were dispatched mutual aide to Morrisonville for a wildland fire. 326, 327, 328, and 32-Air responded with brush trucks and man power. Crews remained there for approximately two hours helping with extinguishment.
At approximately 1630, we were dispatched for a commerical fire alarm, one of many calls happening at the same time in the town of Plattsburgh. 321, 322, 324, and 329 responded and found a power outage in the area caused the alarm. After clearing, Tower 329 was requested to standby at District 3 station while they were out at multiple calls.
