The new adaptive playground at The Rise Center for Success has quickly become a favorite spot for students! 🛝☀️ Throughout the summer, students across all grade levels and programs enjoyed the space during recess, movement breaks, and recreational activities.

Designed with inclusion in mind, the playground gives students opportunities to build confidence, strengthen social skills, improve coordination, and have fun together. Our older students have especially enjoyed the obstacle course and climbing elements, challenging themselves while building perseverance and teamwork.

We’re excited to see the continued positive impact this space will have on our students and school community! 💙

The Loon Center was thrilled to close for an hour this week for a private tour for Thrive Partners in Transition - Sponsored by Champlain Valley Educational Services Rise Center in Plattsburgh! Learning comes to life when students can explore the world around them!

As part of this year's Adirondack-themed Extended School Year (ESY) Program, students in Mrs. Durham's class visited Morrisonville Park to connect their classroom lessons with the natural world. After learning about owls and Adirondack wildlife, students explored the wooded trails, discovered a nest, and even spotted a carved owl sculpture along the way.

This hands-on experience encouraged curiosity, observation, and a deeper appreciation for nature while reinforcing classroom learning through meaningful, real-world exploration.

Giving back while building valuable workplace skills!

Participants in the Rise THRIVE Community Pre-Vocational Program recently volunteered at the United Way of the Adirondack Region, where they helped beautify the grounds by weeding flower beds and clearing unwanted vegetation.

This hands-on service project gave participants the opportunity to strengthen skills such as teamwork, communication, responsibility, and attention to detail while making a positive impact in the community. Real-world experiences like these help prepare students for future employment while fostering confidence, independence, and community pride.

We are proud of our THRIVE participants for their hard work and commitment to serving others!
