Delaware Burn Ban Reminder
As a reminder, the statewide burn ban will go into effect beginning May 1, 2026.
This annual restriction, issued by the Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control, is in place to help protect air quality and reduce the risk of outdoor fires during the warmer months.
Residents are reminded that most open burning is prohibited during this period, with limited exceptions such as cooking fires and small recreational fires.
