The Pownal Fire & Rescue Department had a great day at the Pownal Pumpkin Fest yesterday. Brian and Gaven competed in a chili contest. They were both delicious. Thank you guys! What will they do next year? The department also demonstrated how extrication equipment is used. Thank you to all who attended.

At 12:09 this morning, Pownal Fire & Rescue was dispatched to Bradbury Mountain for two lost hikers. The hikers were found safe and guided off the mountain. When hiking, please take needed gear i.e., water, flashlight cell phone, proper clothing, and a way to navigate.

We would also like to emphasize the importance of safe driving. Please do not DRINK and DRIVE…use extra caution driving motorcycles/dirt bikes or driving around motorcycles/dirt bikes.
