Today, the PHA and its partners celebrated the completion of Carroll Tower Clean Heat RI pilot project that demonstrates that large-scale electrification projects can be fast and resident-centered.
Through a collaboration involving the RI Office of Energy Resources (project funding), Abode Energy Management (project management), Gradient (technology), and Envr Air (installation), Carroll Tower’s 194 apartments in this public housing development for elders have been upgraded from electric baseboard heat to efficient heat pumps in 12 days. Every resident now has access to integrated, year-round heating and cooling!
The project will result in a 60% projected cut in heating energy use with an average annual savings of approx. $94,000. The PHA is proud to have been a partner in this important project that represents a major step forward in in bringing sustainable, cost-saving solutions to affordable housing communities across the state.
