🚨Mutual Aid Vehicle Rescue in Richland Township 🚨

This morning around 9:30am Station 56 was dispatched with Richlandtown Fire Co. for a reported 2 vehicle accident at Richlandtown Pike & California Road. Multiple calls were received by Bucks County 911 reporting possible entrapment and the assignment was upgraded. Bringing in an additional Rescue company from West End Fire Company, Quakertown PA

Engine 36-1 arrived confirming entrapment while starting stabilization and pulling a protection line. Crews from Rescue Engine 56 & Rescue 18 performed a roof removal as well as a driver side removal in order to gain access to the patient for EMS.

The Rescue Engine was clear from the scene within 1 hour.

Operating hand in hand with our mutual aid partners at trainings and on emergency calls has proven to be greatly beneficial to the residents and visitors of our coverage areas and calls like this make it show!

We would like to extend our congratulations to Firefighter David Gerhart on successfully completing the Firefighter I program at Bucks County Community College. Over the past several months, David has dedicated himself to completing over 200 hours of rigorous training while concurrently participating in 100% of our weekly in-house training sessions and responding to emergency calls. Notably, David is the third member of our team to achieve this distinction within a year!

TRAINING TOGETHER TO SERVE YOU BETTER đźš’

This past Monday night, Richland Township Fire & Rescue joined forces with Quakertown Fire Company Number 1 and West End Fire Company, Quakertown PAfor a joint training focused on apparatus familiarization.

Crews spent the evening walking through each truck—reviewing capabilities, specialized equipment, and tool locations—so when we’re operating side-by-side on emergencies, we can seamlessly support one another and make the scene safer and more efficient.

We respond together regularly, and you can expect more joint trainings throughout 2026 as we continue strengthening our teamwork and shared mission: delivering the best possible emergency services to the residents and visitors of our communities.

Thank you to everyone who participated and helped make the night a success!
