On April 7 at 7:06 AM, the Remsen Fire Department was dispatched by Oneida County 911 to provide mutual aid to the Boonville Fire Department for a camper fire that extended to a structure on Smith Rd. (Boonville Fire District). Crews worked in conjunction with Boonville, Constableville, and Woodgate to bring the fire under control, exemplifying the importance of teamwork. Remsen Fire Department responded with Tanker 1, Tanker 2, Rescue 1, and Squad 1, with 10 members under the command of Deputy Chief Scott Stirling.

The rapidly deteriorating road conditions due to the fast-moving snowstorm presented a challenge for responding units and firefighting operations.

To learn more about how you could help please reach out to us or any Fire Department member of any Fire Department.
