Your library staff has some very important coworkers you haven't met yet. Swipe to meet this week's library pets! 🐾

🐱 Jasper (Caitlin's) — A 12-year-old black cat with a loud opinion about everything and a deep commitment to finding the warmest soft spot in the house. Once a great hunter of small animals. Now mostly retired.

🐶 Re*****on (Jessie's) — Estimated to be a runt, 70 lbs later she was convinced she was one of the hoomans. Unapologetic bed hog, fluent in sass, and once ditched her perfectly good house to jump into a pizza delivery car. Re*****on recently crossed the Rainbow Bridge, but her zoomies, dramatic sighs, and aggressive snuggles are not forgotten. 🌈

🐱 Wally (Terri's) — Named after Walmart, because that's where he came from. He jogged behind Terri for 2 miles one morning before she scooped him up at a busy intersection and brought him home. Huge, majestic, and all boy — he rolls in the dirt until filthy. Doesn't want to be held...until he does.

A follow-up PSA for Summer Reading finishers who earned a free lift ride from Kelly Canyon:

- New date: August 22, 2026 (originally August 8) — postponed due to the Big Rock Fire near Heise, which Kelly Canyon has been supporting as a BLM base camp
- New time: 3–8 PM (originally 9 AM–8 PM) — due to a scheduling limitation at Kelly Canyon

Everything else stays the same. Your pass is still valid, and you can still enjoy Big Jud's, hiking or riding down, and yard games while you're there.

Thank you for your patience through these changes, and thank you to Kelly Canyon Resort for hosting our patrons and to the crews working to contain the fires.

Your library staff has some very important coworkers you haven't met yet. Swipe to meet this week's library pets! 🐾

🐶 Jasmine (Leslie's) — A tiny shelter pup who spent her whole life making up for lost time. Completely devoted to her family, firmly convinced every lap was her assigned seat, and a professional food beggar. Jasmine recently crossed the Rainbow Bridge, but her love and snuggles will not be forgotten. 🌈

🐶 Fritz (Tara's) — A miniature schnauzer best described as Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. Stubborn turd one moment, snuggly sweetheart the next.

🐱 Kyoshi (Paige B.'s) — Named after the warriors of Avatar: The Last Airbender, Kyoshi loves snuggling under the covers and rolling in wet swimsuits. Terrible at hunting bugs.

Your library staff has some very important coworkers you haven't met yet. Swipe to meet this week's library pets! 🐾

Grace (Cathy's) — A 12-year-old lady with multiple beds of her own who prefers Cathy's pillow or dirty laundry, thanks. Shy with strangers, fiercely territorial about Cathy's affection, and deeply unimpressed by store-bought toys. Rubber finger protectors and bread bag ties only, please.

Kalcifer-El Kestis (Madison's) — aka Kal, aka Mr. Mans. A certified emotional support cat who is also a self-proclaimed mighty hunter, dedicated napper, and committed nosy neighbor.

Kathmandu + Vienna (Talita's) — Katman recently learned to purr and is almost passing for a tame house cat. Vienna is quiet, cuddly, and will do absolutely anything for cheese.

Kelly Canyon's free lift ride for Summer Reading is being postponed to August 22.

The Big Rock Fire near Heise is still active, and Kelly Canyon is currently serving as a BLM base camp for the crews fighting them. Due to safety concerns, the mountain won't be ready for guests until the fires are fully contained and cleared.

Your pass won't expire — hold onto it and save the new date.

Thank you to the firefighters and crews working to protect our community, and to Kelly Canyon for stepping up to host them.
