We are sharing a restoration project of St. John's UMC - Richmond, Texas, one of the historic buildings in . ✨ St. Johns UMC was built in 1839 with sanctuary dedicated in 1922, which makes the stained-glass in the sanctuary104 yrs. old and unable to portray the colors and brightness of the stories that influenced many generations. St. John's membership and the community came together some time back to execute a 3- 5- year restoration project to restore these historic windows which meant each window had to be removed, disassembled, cleaned, repaired, releaded and reinstalled in the sanctuary to beautify this historic building which impacts Historic Downtown Richmond.

These images are the first window replaced and once the project is complete with all windows replaced in the sanctuary, everyone should enjoy the restoration by taking a moment to look up and enjoy the beauty of this craftsmanship in brilliant art form. 🌟

Richmond City Offices will be closed for the Labor Day Holiday on Monday, September 7, 2026. As always, essential personnel will continue working to serve citizens.

GFL Environmental Services will run normal collection schedules in the City of Richmond, so put carts to curb if Monday is your collection day. We hope you find time to relax during this traditional 'wind down' from Summer 2026.

September is National Su***de Prevention Month.

Behind every door in Richmond is a neighbor carrying something you cannot see. Some of them are carrying more than they can hold alone.

You do not need the right words to help. You need to ask the question, listen without rushing to fix it, and stay.

If you or someone you care about is struggling, help is free, local, and available right now:

📞 Call or text 988, the Su***de and Crisis Lifeline, 24 hours a day
📞 Texana Center Crisis Hotline, our local mental health authority in Rosenberg: 1-800-633-5686
🚨 In an immediate emergency, call 911

Asking for help is not weakness. In Richmond, it is what neighbors do.

While we may have dodged a bullet with Tropical system Edouard, we may still get wind gusts, so this is a good time to post this reminder. 🌫️

Do your part to prevent leaves, branches and debris 🍃 from ending up in the street and gutters and blocking the drainage on the street. Responsibility for your own property collectively helps city streets drain during rain events. ⛈️
