It's that time of year when Rochester, Caston, and Tippy Valley high schools each send two teams to compete in the 1st Pitch competition. These 6 teams pitch their original business ideas in hopes of winning a cash prize, sponsored by Fulton County REMC.

A big thanks to the judges this year - Andrew Horstman, Chris Hoffman, and Kendra Chudzynski. A special thanks to: Jillian Smith of the Northern Indiana Community Foundation for being the time keeper, to Tiffany Lukens and Chelsie Smith of the Fulton County Chamber of Commerce and Kim Pinkerton for help with set up and troubleshooting, to Christine Walsh for taking care of everything pre-event. Food was brought to us by Rochester Bagel & Coffee House, and our wonderful venue was The Times Theater.

None of this would be possible without Amy Beechy and her dedication to showcasing the great work by our students. We look forward to seeing what the new group of students come up with next year!

On Thursday, March 13th, the 6th Annual First Pitch Competition was held at Geneva Center. The event featured finalist teams of aspiring entrepreneurs from Caston, Rochester, and Tippecanoe Valley schools, pitching their business ideas. Thank you to Fulton County REMC for sponsoring the event and providing the cash prizes. Thank you to teachers Aaron Engbrecht, Lindsay Brubaker and Brenda Gaerte and to the judges, Kim Martin, Andrew Horstman and Chris Hoffman. A special thanks to Jillian Smith for being the time keeper and to RTC for filming this event. We look forward to having this event next year.
