We had so much fun celebrating Kay Carter’s birthday today! 🎉🍕🍦

Kay, CEO of Second Harvest Food Bank, celebrated her special day by bringing pizzas and an ice cream bar for our guests to enjoy. We were also grateful to have Oakland Presbyterian Church volunteering with us and helping make the celebration so special!

Thank you to Kay and the Oakland Presbyterian Church group for spending the day with us, serving our guests, and bringing so much joy to the Dorothy Day Soup Kitchen. ❤️

Happy Birthday, Kay! We hope it was a great one!

A big thank you to the incredible interns from Family Trust Federal Credit Union for spending the day serving alongside us!
Yesterday’s menu featured pinto beans with ham, collard greens, fresh stewed potatoes, and biscuits—all prepared with care for our guests. Their willingness to give their time and lend a helping hand makes a real difference in our mission.
