I had the great pleasure to meet with a group of students who are preparing to enter the electrical trades. GREAT questions. We covered solar, data centers, electrification retrofitting of old buildings. We also covered taxes, conflicting priorities and the winding path some people (like me!!) take along their career path. Thanks Montgomery College for your commitment to career readiness for all students.

I hit the community trifecta today!
✅ started my day with the City of Gaithersburg Economic Development breakfast with MD housing secretary Jake Day
✅ met with a group from the Community of Faith United Methodist Church in Clarksburg. They are going into their 93rd year!!! I also met Mr. Foreman whose mother was a local activist who was responsible for getting the first Ride-on bus in Clarksburg!! They name Foreman Boulevard after her💕
✅ my 3rd stop was a pediatrician practice to talk about the health needs of our kids. We need more health providers in general and mental health providers who accept insurance.

This morning I presented a proclamation to Poolesville High School seniors Jacob Lee and Bryan Yung, who worked together to develop an app called Runway that provides small, daily STEM lessons to expand users’ knowledge of STEM topics.

Our construction trades are critical to our economy, providing many great jobs, benefits and a strong career pathway for students. Thanks to Montgomery College for their excellent, skills-based program, partnering with employers to develop the training needed on day one!

Breakfast with Balcombe/Lattes with Linda was a big success. Some folks popped in for a quick cup of coffee, some stayed for 2 hours. Topics included transportation, public safety, schools, ped safety, youth engagement, etc.
