On Tuesday, Aug. 11, from 7-9 p.m., the Montgomery County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) will hold a virtual (online only) public hearing to discuss the proposed traffic calming improvements along Pooks Hill Road in Bethesda. The public will have an opportunity to ask questions.

Great turnout for National Night Out in Bethesda! It’s always great to see neighbors come together, build relationships with our police, firefighters, and first responders, and strengthen the trust that makes our communities safer and stronger. Thanks to everyone who came out!

It’s almost time for Maryland’s Tax-Free Week! From August 9–15, qualifying clothing, shoes, and backpacks are exempt from the state’s 6% sales tax.

As Chair of the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments FARM Committee, I'm proud to support local agriculture and expand access to fresh food. Our affordable homeownership Bill 15-26 unanimously passed the Montgomery County MD Council today! Thrilled to continue the ongoing partnership with Habitat for Humanity Metro Maryland to help more families access homeownership and build generational wealth.

Today, as chair of Planning, Housing & Parks, I joined Committee colleagues to recognize Parks & Recreation Month, honoring Montgomery Parks and Montgomery County Recreation for strengthening community and improving lives by expanding recreation access and bringing residents together.

🚨 REMINDER 🚨
The Metro Red Line will be closed between North Bethesda and Friendship Heights from Monday, July 6 through Sunday, Sept. 6.
🚇 During this time, Metro trains will NOT operate in this section — but free shuttle service will be available to keep riders moving.
🔧 This summer closure allows Metro crews to complete major improvement projects, including:
• Building a new mezzanine at Bethesda Station to connect Metro Rail with the Purple Line
• Performing important state‑of‑good‑repair maintenance at Medical Center and Grosvenor‑Strathmore to prevent future shutdowns
🚍 MCDOT is offering several travel alternatives to help you get where you need to go all summer long.
