Rolette County Emergency Management would like to welcome Jenna Parisien as the new Emergency Management Director for the Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa Indians!
We are excited to continue working closely with Jenna and the Turtle Mountain Emergency Management program to strengthen preparedness, response, recovery, and overall community resilience throughout Rolette County and the Turtle Mountains.
Emergency management is built on strong partnerships, and we are grateful to have Jenna serving in this important role. Her dedication to public safety, community outreach, and collaboration with tribal, local, state, and federal partners will be a great asset to the region.

Hello everyone!
I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself. My name is Jenna Parisien, and I have the privilege of serving as the Emergency Management Director for the Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa Indians.
Although I started in this position back in April, I thought now would be the perfect time to officially introduce myself as we launch this new page for our community.
The last few months have been a whirlwind! I've been attending FEMA Incident Command trainings, meeting with tribal, local, and state partners, learning as much as I can, and thanks to an unpredictable start to summer, jumping right into storm planning and emergency response. Every day has been an opportunity to learn more about our community and the incredible people who work together to keep it safe.
One thing I've learned is that many people aren't exactly sure what emergency management does and that's okay! Most people only think about us during emergencies, but our job actually starts long before something happens. We spend a lot of time planning, preparing, coordinating with other agencies, applying for resources, educating the public, and helping our community recover after disasters. Simply put, my goal is to help the Turtle Mountains be as prepared and resilient as possible, no matter what comes our way.
I humbly ask that you bear with me in this new role as I am currently a department of one, but will be growing to better serve our community. There have been numerous individuals within our community, tribe, and emergency response professionals who have stepped up to offer their assistance during this transition period from my role at Belcourt Rural Fire Department to Emergency Management.
My hope for this page is that it becomes a trusted place where you can find:
-Important emergency alerts and public safety announcements
-Weather updates and preparedness information
-Fire danger and burn restriction notices
-Emergency planning and community updates
-Safety tips for you and your family
-Information on local events, trainings, and resources
I also want this page to be a conversation, not just a place where information is posted. If there are hazards or concerns you've noticed in your neighborhood, ideas you think would make our community safer, or questions about emergency preparedness, I want to hear them, but in a constructive manner. I will not allow the page to become a public forum for bashing other departments. The best emergency management happens when we work together as a team to come up with solutions.
If you're planning to attend First Responders Day on Tuesday, July 14 or TM Kids Day on Wednesday, July 15, please stop by and say hello! I'd love to meet you, answer any questions you have, and hear about the concerns or ideas you have for our community. Even if it's just to introduce yourself, I'd be happy to visit.
