Speed Enforcement Camera Update

To date there have been 1,542 Speeding Violation citations issued for speeds of 10 mph over the posted speed limit.

The speed cameras issuing citations are currently at the following locations:
📍200 Block of Junction Rd (E/B)
📍200 Block of Paradise Canyon Dr (N/B and S/B)
📍 800 Block of Hull Rd (S/B)

The Hull location has issued 457 warnings since August 27th, 2026 and speed enforcement citations will begin issuing in less than two weeks.

Remember, Ruidoso Public School is in session! Please slow down and obey posted speed limits. These cameras are part of our ongoing effort to improve safety on Village roadways.

Speed Enforcement Camera Update

There have been 1,347 citations issued since 07/26/2026.

The speed cameras issuing citations are currently at the following locations:
📍200 Block of Junction Rd (E/B)
📍200 Block of Paradise Canyon Dr (N/B and S/B)
📍 800 Block of Hull Rd (S/B)

There have been 311 warnings issued at the Hull trailer location that began issuing warnings on 08/27/2026.

Speeds in these locations have been recorded at more than 50 MPH over the posted limit, with the average speeding citation issued for approximately 14 to 15 MPH over the limit.

Our patrol officers make about 15 traffic stops each, monthly, while also responding to traffic crashes, calls for service, theft, domestic violence incidents, other dispatched calls, and all too often having to put down an animal in distress.

Speed Enforcement Camera Update

Since the Altumint Speed Enforcement Cameras went live on Junction and Paradise on July 26, 2026, a total of 1,158 citations have been issued.

Cameras are currently active at:
📍 200 Block of Junction (E/B)
📍 200 Block of Paradise (N/B and S/B)
📍 800 Block of Hull (S/B)

In addition, the Hull Road camera began issuing warnings on August 27, 2026, and has logged 193 warnings so far.

There are 4 camera trailers currently deployed across these locations, each monitoring one direction of traffic: 1 on Junction (E/B), 2 on Paradise (N/B and S/B), and 1 on Hull (S/B).

Please remember to slow down and obey posted speed limits. These cameras are part of our ongoing effort to improve safety on Village roadways.

ENFORCEMENT REMINDER: The Ruidoso Police Department will enforce all applicable traffic laws and ordinances related to off-highway vehicles.

Operators are responsible for ensuring they are in compliance with all applicable State of New Mexico laws and Village of Ruidoso ordinances before operating an OHV within Village limits!

KNOW BEFORE YOU RIDE: OFF-HIGHWAY VEHICLES VILLAGE OF RUIDOSO MUNICIPAL CODE

Here are a few important reminders for operating OHVs in the Village of Ruidoso.

✅ DO:
- Follow posted speed limit and traffic laws.
- Ensure your OHV has working headlights, taillights, brakes, mirrors and mufflers.
- Carry a valid driver’s license, instruction permit or provisional license, along with the required OHV safety permit.
- Maintain required insurance coverage.
- Come to a complete stop and yield to traffic before crossing streets or highways, then cross directly and safely.

🚫 DON’T:
- Operate an OHV on limited-access highways or private property.
- Ride on walking trails.
- Ride in Village-owned or maintained parks.
- Carry passengers unless your OHV is specifically designed and properly equipped for safely transporting them.
- Exceed OHV's passenger allotment

REMEMBER: Standard traffic laws apply to OHVs. Recreational OHVs that meet the required equipment, licensing, permit, and insurance requirements may be operated on paved streets owned and controlled by the Village of Ruidoso.

Based on community feedback and reports of speeding, a speed enforcement camera has been relocated to Hull Road to help address speeding and promote safer travel.

The ALTUMINT Speed Enforcement Camera previously located at 200 Junction Road has been moved to the 1000 block of southbound Hull Road. This camera will be issuing warnings for speeding for the next thirty days. After the 30-day grace period the camera will be issuing $100.00 civil citations for speeding.

The ALTUMINT Speed Enforcement Camera located at 206 Paradise Canyon Drive, active since July 26, 2026, remains in place and continues issuing civil citations.

🐻 Bear Alert: Two Rivers Park Area

The Village has received reports of a bear in the area of Two Rivers Park.

If you are visiting the area, please stay aware of your surroundings, keep food and coolers secured, and dispose of all trash in designated dumpsters.
