As a final project for 7th grade Pre-AP English at Ruidoso Middle School, students performed their own version of the classic Twilight Zone episode The Monsters Are Due on Maple Street in the school commons area.
With guidance from their teacher and narration provided by a fellow classmate, students brought the suspenseful story to life for classmates and staff through a live performance. Students worked together to learn lines, develop characters, and recreate the mystery that made the original episode so memorable.
The project allowed students to strengthen public speaking, teamwork, and performance skills while exploring themes of communication, and human behavior. RMS students and staff enjoyed the opportunity to support and watch the live production during Friday's performance.

This week, the Ruidoso Middle School Student Council conducted a “Kindness Rocks” campaign throughout the community. Student Council members hand-painted rocks with positive, kind, and uplifting messages and placed them at various locations around Ruidoso in hopes of brightening someone’s day and spreading kindness throughout the community.
If you happen to find one of these special rocks around town, it was placed there to remind you that kindness matters.
