The future of Rancho Cordova is taking shape!

Thank you to everyone who attended a General Plan workshop, stopped by one of our community pop-up events, visited us at the Farmers Market or shared feedback online. Your ideas helped shape the future of Rancho Cordova.

In July, the City Council officially approved the General Plan 2050 Land Use Map, an important milestone that will help guide how our community grows through 2050.

The approved map reflects community input and includes:

👉🏼More housing choices in key infill areas
👉🏼Transit-oriented development along Folsom Boulevard
👉🏼A new Entertainment Mixed-Use district
👉🏼Reimagined office parks
👉🏼More active commercial centers

Next, the project moves into preparation of the full General Plan document and environmental review, with adoption of the Rancho Cordova 2050 General Plan anticipated in mid-2027.

Learn more and view the approved Land Use Map at yourcityrc2050.org.

As more residents, businesses and fleets make the switch to electric vehicles, the City of Rancho Cordova is developing an Electric Vehicle (EV) Charging Needs Assessment and Network Plan to better understand where charging is needed most and how to expand access across the community.

The plan will help identify gaps in the current charging network, explore barriers that residents and businesses may face, and recommend future locations for EV chargers throughout Rancho Cordova. A key focus of this effort is making sure charging options are convenient, reliable and accessible for everyone, including residents who live in apartments or multi-family housing, businesses, fleets and neighborhoods that may have limited access today.

Community feedback is an important part of this work. Whether you drive an EV now, are thinking about getting one in the future or simply want to help shape a cleaner transportation system for Rancho Cordova, we want to hear from you.

Residents, businesses and visitors are encouraged to take our survey and put points on the map to show where EV charging would be most helpful: https://app.maptionnaire.com/q/887ksg83zk88

Residents will also have the opportunity to share their perspectives on electric vehicles, ask questions and test drive an EV or ride as a passenger. Individuals who complete a test drive will receive a voucher for a $12 discount from Farmers Market vendors.

Rancho Cordova businesses continue to make an impact locally and regionally. From being recognized for their community impact to supporting the next generation of entrepreneurs and driving innovation, these Rancho Cordova businesses are celebrating successes.

First up, congratulations to Benji’s Woodfire Pizza, located at 2350 Sunrise Boulevard, which was recently named the 7th Assembly District’s Small Business of the Month for July 2026 by Assemblyman Josh Hoover. Founded in 2021, Benji’s is known for its authentic wood-fired Neapolitan pizza, hand-stretched and made with purpose. They also cater for weddings, corporate lunches, birthdays, fundraisers and more. In addition to its Rancho Cordova location, they have a second location in Citrus Heights at 7530 Auburn Boulevard. Check out the menu and learn more at benjiswoodfirepizza.com or follow them on Instagram at .

Entrepreneurship is also thriving in Rancho Cordova. On Wednesday, the Rancho Cordova Chamber of Commerce celebrated the graduation of the 10th class of its MBARK program. The MBARK (Minority Business Assistance and Recovery Kickstart) program is an intense 10-week course designed to help small business owners in Rancho Cordova succeed. It provides relevant information on a broad spectrum of areas, including business planning, financial infrastructure and planning, marketing and digital presence, and more. Learn more about the program or apply at ranchocordova.org/mbark.

Innovation also continues to be a major part of Rancho Cordova’s business community. Not one, but two Rancho Cordova businesses were recognized in the Sacramento Business Journal’s Innovation Awards. The awards recognize people, organizations and products that are helping advance innovation throughout the region. Human Machine Collaboration Institute and Solidigm both made the list alongside nine other innovators. Read more about the awards at https://www.bizjournals.com/sacramento/news/2026/07/22/inno-awards-honorees-announcement-2026.html.

Rancho Cordova’s business community continues to grow and inspire! Congratulations to all of this year’s honorees and graduates.
