Golden Sierra Job Training Agency has been changing the lives of job seekers and improving business since 1983. Initially serving 5 counties, Golden Sierra refined its service area to Placer, El Dorado, and Alpine Counties. Over its thirty year history the agency has invested more than 120 million dollars in the region’s youth, adults, dislocated workers, and businesses. These investments keep youth in school and improve their skills, assist job seekers with career transition and training, and reduce costs for small businesses.

After earning her high school equivalency, Martha worked with Golden Sierra to explore her interest in working with children. She was connected with the Lake Tahoe Community College Child Development Center, where she applied for a Teacher’s Aide position—and got the job!

Now thriving in her new role, Martha plans to continue her education in Early Childhood Education and work toward an Associate’s Degree.
