A huge THANK YOU to the San Antonio Food Bank for hosting our KIDS' Camps campers during field trips earlier this month! 🌟

Throughout the month, campers from our Encino Park, Vineyard Ranch, Wetmore, and Hardy Oak camp sites had the opportunity to visit and learn about the important work the Food Bank does to fight hunger and support families across our community.

These educational experiences gave our campers a chance to see firsthand how organizations can make a positive impact while encouraging service, compassion, and community involvement. We are grateful to the San Antonio Food Bank staff and volunteers for providing such a welcoming and engaging experience for our campers.

During a Special Board Meeting on Monday, June 15, the North East ISD Board of Trustees officially named Interim Superintendent Anthony Jarrett as our District’s newest Superintendent of Schools.

“He has worked tirelessly to really propel our District forward and has really done it with a singular focus with student success in mind,” said NEISD Board President David Beyer. “We thank him for what he’s done and we are really looking forward to the things he has yet to accomplish.”

Jarrett brings more than 25 years of experience in public education including six years with NEISD. He previously served as the District’s Chief Instructional Officer before being named Interim Superintendent in December of last year. Prior to joining North East ISD in 2019, Jarrett served as a teacher, principal and assistant superintendent in Northside ISD.

Following the announcement, Jarrett thanked the board and our community for their trust.

“Thank you, the board, for entrusting me with this opportunity. I want to thank the families in our community for allowing us to serve their children,” said Jarrett. “Change is inevitable, but if we all pull in the same direction and we all stay grounded into our ‘why’ and our purpose, I really believe our schools will excel. Our schools will be even better for years to come.”

The board named Jarrett as the Lone Finalist for the role during a special meeting on May 18, which began the state-mandated 21-day waiting period before officially naming Jarrett to the position permanently.

Hello Community,

Community Education is excited to offer a wide variety of classes and opportunities for youth, adults, and so much more this summer! Our summer programs are starting soon, and we would love for you to join us.

For youth, we are offering exciting elementary and middle school enrichment classes. Elementary students can enjoy Art, STEM, Sports, and so much more, while middle school students can participate in Cooking, Yoga, and additional enrichment opportunities. We are also offering half-day morning and afternoon programs designed to keep students engaged, active, and learning all summer long.

For adults, we have a variety of engaging opportunities including Parenting & Vision Board Workshops, Language Classes, Computer Classes, Art Courses, and even convenient Zoom classes for those with busy schedules.

Special thank you to Magik Theatre for your partnership and support in helping bring this wonderful experience to our students! 🎭

Over the past six weeks, students built confidence, creativity, and communication skills through acting, storytelling, and teamwork while performing An Adventure in Owllywood — a playful bird-themed comedy full of laughter, drama, and imagination! 🦉🎭

The story followed a celebrity pigeon who unexpectedly drives a bus through Owllywood and becomes caught up in a dramatic courtroom case after a staged mishap. Through imaginative role-play, students brought quirky characters to life, worked together to solve the chaos, and grew as performers in a fun and collaborative ensemble production.

A huge thank you to our incredible instructors, Venny Mortimer and Juan Pablo Roblesgil, for guiding and inspiring our young performers throughout this exciting journey!
