Hello, Hornet SENIOR Families!

We wanted to share a quick clarification regarding senior school picture orders. Due to a typo made by our photography company, the “Order By” date listed on the senior proof flyer your students should receive this week, is incorrect. The correct deadline to place orders for free delivery to the school is September 30th.

This deadline applies ONLY to free school delivery. Families may continue to place orders throughout the school year using their student’s unique ordering code listed on their proof flyer. Orders placed after September 30th will include a small delivery fee and will be shipped directly to your home, not the school.

Senior proof flyers should be received by students in their government or economics class. Learning academy students and students without a gov or eco class will have their proofs delivered to them.

HEY HORNETS!! Reminder that all underclassmen photos are scheduled for THIS WEEK Sept. 8th - 11th. Photo times (and specific day) are scheduled through your student’s English class. All students must be in school dress code.

Need a school ID? Please make sure you take your school photo, as that is the fastest way to get one at the moment! Student ID’s will be delivered after picture days, be on the lookout for the announcement!

SENIORS!! Reminder that your tux & drape photos are scheduled for THIS WEEK, August 25th - 28th. Your photo times are scheduled through your government or economics classes, and your specific day was communicated through your teacher.

Gentlemen please wear a white tshirt, ladies please wear something you can slip up/down your shoulders. You must be in dress code the rest of the day.

If you know you will be needing a school ID for a job, drivers permit, etc., PLEASE make sure to take your photo this week. Student ID’s will be severely delayed without this.

Meet our yearbook and photojournalism advisor, Ms. Hanzal!

Ms. Hanzal has deep generational roots in the East Central community. Her father is an East Central ISD graduate, and her mother, Ms. Galan, has taught for 29 years at Pecan Valley Elementary. Ms. Hanzal began her own education at Pecan Valley before graduating from East Central High School in 2017.

She then attended the University of the Incarnate Word, where she earned a double bachelor’s in English and Photography. After college, she knew she wanted to return home and give back to the community that had raised her, beginning her teaching career at East Central High School.

This year, Ms. Hanzal returns to a classroom that holds a special place in her story, the same yearbook classroom where she spent four years as a student. This time, however, she returns as our yearbook adviser, bringing her journey full circle.
