Please join us in giving Ms. Garza a warm Bobcat welcome as she begins this exciting new chapter at Dwight Middle School and South San Antonio ISD!

Lesley Garza brings 17 years of experience in public education and a strong commitment to student success, academic excellence, and building positive school communities.

A graduate of Texas A&M International University, Ms. Garza earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree before obtaining her Master of Education in Administration from Lamar University. Throughout her career, she has served as a classroom teacher, instructional coach, assistant principal, and principal.

Most recently, Ms. Garza served as Principal of Regency Place Elementary School and Alternative Elementary School. Prior to that, she served as Assistant Principal at Roan Forest Elementary School. Throughout her leadership journey, she has focused on strengthening instruction, fostering positive school cultures, and building meaningful partnerships with students, staff, families, and the community.

¡Acompáñenos a darle una cálida bienvenida Bobcat a la Sra. Garza al iniciar esta emocionante nueva etapa en Dwight Middle School y South San Antonio ISD!

Lesley Garza cuenta con 17 años de experiencia en la educación pública y una firme vocación por impulsar el éxito estudiantil, la excelencia académica y el desarrollo de comunidades escolares positivas.

Egresada de Texas A&M International University, la Sra. Garza obtuvo una Licenciatura en Administración de Empresas y posteriormente una Maestría en Administración Educativa por Lamar University. A lo largo de su trayectoria profesional, se ha desempeñado como maestra, especialista de instrucción, subdirectora y directora.

Más recientemente, la Sra. Garza se desempeñó como directora de Regency Place Elementary School y Alternative Elementary School. Anteriormente, fue subdirectora de Roan Forest Elementary School. Durante su carrera en liderazgo educativo, se ha enfocado en fortalecer la enseñanza, promover una cultura escolar positiva y construir relaciones significativas con estudiantes, personal, familias y la comunidad.

⭐️ Next in our Bobcat Alumni Legacy series... 💙🐾

🎓 A proud South San alumnus, Gerardo Dominguez’s journey began at Palo Alto Elementary, continued through Kazen Middle School, and led him to South San Antonio High School, where he was actively involved in football and the National Honor Society.

After graduation, Dominguez attended The University of Texas at Austin, earning a degree in Youth and Community Studies. Today, he proudly serves the district that helped shape him as a Truancy Attendance Officer for South San Antonio ISD, working closely with students and families to promote the importance of daily attendance and help ensure every student has access to the quality education they deserve.

Reflecting on his time as a student, Dominguez shares, “Enjoying the carefree time I had with teammates and friends” remains one of his favorite memories from South San.

From Friday night football games to time spent with friends and teammates, Dominguez’s South San experience was filled with meaningful connections and lasting memories. Now, he gives back to the next generation of Bobcats by helping remove barriers to attendance and encouraging students to be present, engaged, and successful in school each day. 👏

🎓 Orgullosamente egresado de South San, la historia de Gerardo Dominguez comenzó en la Primaria Palo Alto, continuó en la Secundaria Kazen y lo llevó hasta South San Antonio High School, donde participó activamente en el fútbol americano y la Sociedad Nacional de Honor.

Tras graduarse, Dominguez asistió a la Universidad de Texas en Austin, donde obtuvo una licenciatura en Estudios de la Juventud y la Comunidad. Hoy, se enorgullece de servir al distrito que contribuyó a su formación como Oficial de Asistencia Escolar de South San Antonio ISD, colaborando de cerca con estudiantes y familias para fomentar la importancia de la asistencia diaria y ayudar a garantizar que cada estudiante tenga acceso a la educación de calidad que merece.

Al recordar su etapa como estudiante, Dominguez comparte que uno de sus recuerdos favoritos es: “Disfrutar de los momentos sin preocupaciones junto an mis compañeros de equipo y amigos”.

Desde los partidos de fútbol americano de los viernes por la noche hasta los momentos compartidos con amigos y compañeros de equipo, la experiencia de Dominguez en South San estuvo llena de amistades, conexiones significativas y recuerdos inolvidables. Hoy, retribuye a la próxima generación de Bobcats ayudando a eliminar barreras que afectan la asistencia escolar y motivando a los estudiantes a estar presentes, participar activamente y alcanzar el éxito cada día. 👏

Please join us in welcoming Christopher Herrera as the new Assistant Principal of Frank Madla Elementary!

Mr. Herrera brings 14 years of experience in education, including 8 years in the classroom and 6 years in campus leadership. Throughout his career, he has served students and families across Austin ISD, San Antonio ISD, and most recently North East ISD, where he served as an administrator at the middle school level.

A dedicated educator and leader, Mr. Herrera holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Texas State University, a Master of Arts in Curriculum and Instruction from The University of Texas at Austin, and a Master of Education in School Leadership from Trinity University.
We are excited to welcome Mr. Herrera to the Frank Madla family and look forward to the positive impact his experience, passion, and commitment to student success will have on our campus community.

A lo largo de su trayectoria, ha servido a estudiantes y familias en Austin ISD, San Antonio ISD y, más recientemente, en North East ISD, donde se desempeñó como administrador a nivel de escuela secundaria.
