The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in locating 77-year-old Maria T Medellin

At approximately 10:03 AM Maria was seen walking southbound on Buffalo Wolf in west Bexar County. Maria is approximately 5 feet tall and 120 pounds with brown eyes and gray hair.

Maria was last seen wearing a navy blue sweatshirt, pink undershirt, turquoise sweatpants, black shoes and a pink f***y pack. Maria does not have a cell phone in her possession.

Yesterday, the Citizens Academy Class 2026 Bravo learned about narcotics and gained insight into how Bexar County Sheriff's Office deputies identify illegal drugs. Participants explored different types of narcotics and took part in a hands on training exercise using simulation drugs to practice identification techniques in a safe, controlled environment.

The 13 week Citizens Academy gives community members a behind the scenes look at the Bexar County Sheriff's Office and the work our deputies do every day. Participants take part in hands on experiences, including patrol ride alongs, reality based training, and driving on our Emergency Vehicle Operations Course.

In the coming weeks, participants will also tour the Bexar County Jail and other BCSO facilities to learn more about the many divisions that serve Bexar County.

At approximately 7 PM, deputies responded to a shooting at the 7400 block of Kitty Hawk Road. Deputies arrived on scene and observed a male that had sustained several gunshot wounds to his upper body inside a residence.

Life-saving measures were attempted yet the male, in his 20s, was pronounced deceased. Deputies determined that there was a disturbance at this location, where a female exited the residence. The female approached a secondary residence nearby.

The original suspect, now decedent, opened fire at or near the female, leaving the residence. A second male at the residence she was directly nearby, came out of the residence and began firing. After the gunfight took place the second male who shot the decedent, left the residence prior to law-enforcement’s arrival in a black SUV.

We are still in the early stages of determining criminal offenses. We will provide updates as soon as we get something else.

The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in locating 37-year-old John Michael Pieroni Jr

John was last seen leaving his residence in his white 2025 Chevrolet Silverado on August 4, 2026, between 5:00 p.m. and 5:30 p.m., and has not returned home.

His family was previously in communication with him by text message, but they have not heard from him since, and he has not returned home.

The photos above are recent photographs of John. He was last seen wearing a blue button up shirt, blue jeans, blue tennis shoes, and a blue cap.

The Bexar County Sheriff's Office is currently working an active scene in the 9800 block of Acadian Dr.

🚨 Deputies are still actively searching for a suspect who is believed to be armed and dangerous.

If you see anything suspicious or have information related to this incident, call 911 immediately. Do not approach the suspect.

Please avoid the area and seek alternate routes while deputies continue their search.

On August 2, 2026, deputies responded to a disturbance involving a female calling for help from inside a vehicle. Deputies contacted Joab Abisal Navarrete, 22, who showed clear signs of intoxication while operating a vehicle.

When deputies attempted to detain Navarrete, he became combative, causing a deputy to dislocate his thumb and to resist arrest. Navarrete attempted to strike at deputies during his arrest, where he was eventually detained.

Further investigation revealed Navarrete had assaulted a female prior to deputies’ arrival. Witnesses reported seeing the victim on the hood of Navarrete’s vehicle before falling as he drove off.

Navarrete was arrested and charged with assault causing bodily injury to a family member, assault on a peace officer, and driving while intoxicated.

🛑 Stop when a school bus has its stop arm out and red lights flashing.
📵 Put your phone away and stay focused on the road.
🚶 Watch for children crossing the street, walking on sidewalks, and riding their bikes.
⏰ Leave a few minutes early to avoid speeding through school zones.
