Greater San Antonio Chamber Since 1894, The Chamber works to ensure San Antonio remains a great place to live, work, and play. We do not receive any public funding.

The Chamber is a 501 (c) 6 organization that is fully supported by our memberships and revenue from our events and sponsorships. This is so we may provide balanced, non-partisan support for our members in advocacy, networking events, marketing support and workforce development.

We are proud of our Executive Board Chair, Kevin Dinnin, and Public Policy Council Chair, Jonathan Gurwitz, for representing our members at today's City Council meeting. The Greater San Antonio Chamber supports infrastructure investments that strengthen the reliability of our water system and support San Antonio's future growth, while calling for clear accountability measures, transparent reporting, and continued operational improvements from SAWS.

In a close 6-5 vote, City Council voted to postpone a decision on a potential rate increase for the San Antonio Water System (SAWS), with the issue set to return for consideration in October.

A grateful city and region came together to say “thank you” and “see you later” to Major General (U.S. Marine Corps-retired) Juan Ayala as he retires from his role as the City of San Antonio Military and Veteran Affairs Department Director.

For nearly a decade, General Ayala has been a driving force behind the success, growth, and protection of our military community, helping strengthen the partnership between Joint Base San Antonio and the greater San Antonio region. Through his leadership, collaboration, and unwavering commitment to service, he has helped advance initiatives that support our service members, veterans, military families, and the economic vitality of Military City USA.

His impact will be felt for generations, and his legacy of service, advocacy, and leadership will continue to inspire our community. Thank you, General Ayala, for your extraordinary dedication to San Antonio, our military community, and our nation. We wish you the very best in your next chapter.
