Over the last 80 years, generations of San Diegans have created lasting memories of 6th grade camp at Cuyamaca Outdoor School. For many, that one week in the outdoors kindled a lifelong love and respect for nature and the environment.

But did you know that our visiting students have also left a lasting impact on our camp as well? In 1948, students planted little seedlings during their week at camp. Now, 78 years later, those same trees have grown to form Cedar Grove, a well utilized shady area where students often do activities, connect with each other, and simply take a break outdoors.

Do you remember sitting under these trees during your visit to camp? Share your memories and photos of camp with as we continue to celebrate the incredible 80-year legacy of Cuyamaca Outdoor School!

SDCOE and San Diego County Credit Union are kicking off the Stuff the Bus campaign, gathering donations to purchase backpacks and school supplies for the thousands of students across the county experiencing homelessness.

Making sure that students feel a sense of belonging in their school community starts with having the right supplies, and that can sometimes be difficult for students experiencing homelessness.

Help our young people start the school year off right by donating to Stuff the Bus. Donate online or at at any San Diego County Credit Union branch location Through July 31.
