What makes Cycle to Zero different from AIDS/LifeCycle?
San Francisco AIDS Foundation is honored to carry forward the impactful, three-decade legacy of AIDS/LifeCycle. In 1994 when 500 riders and volunteers completed the first journey from San Francisco to Los Angeles – then called “California AIDS Ride” – the idea was simple but powerful: cover hundreds of miles on a bicycle to raise money and awareness for HIV/AIDS services, while embodying community resilience at a time when stigma and fear were rampant. AIDS/LifeCycle raised over $330 million dollars and affected the lives of over 500,000 cyclists, roadies, staff, donors, and the greater communities of San Francisco AIDS Foundation and the Los Angeles LGBT Center. While ALC’s journey has officially crossed its finish line, SFAF is beginning a new adventure. We ask ALC veterans – and new cyclists alike – to trust us, and come prepared with your joy and commitment for an entirely new experience!
SFAF envisions a future of Zero New HIV Diagnoses. Zero Stigma. Zero Inequity. Zero Overdose.
Cycle or Crew with us for a better future. May 29—31, 2026. SF TO Guerneville and back.
