As we celebrate Month of the Child and prepare for National Foster Care Month in May, the San Luis Obispo County Department of Social Services, Child Welfare Division would like to share a story about one of our truly amazing resource parents, Christine Groff. She is a gifted resource parent who serves as an emergency foster care placement option and participates in our Options For Recovery (OFR) program. Join us for the 3rd Annual Avila Lighthouse Foster Care Appreciation Event as we celebrate Foster Care Month with the incredible families and children in our community.

Enjoy a complimentary lunch, fun activities for kids, community partner booths, and a chance to meet local Fire and Sheriff’s Department members. It’s a relaxed, family-friendly afternoon to connect and celebrate the amazing work foster and adoptive families do every day.

April 18th from 9:30am to 2:30pm.

Join us for an enriching day at Fort Hope! Learn about early California history while doing hands-on activities in an outdoor setting! Lunch will be provided.
