We're hiring! 🎉

CAPSLO's Child, Youth & Family Services (CYFS) team is looking for a Finance Specialist to join us in San Luis Obispo.

If you're someone who enjoys working with numbers, keeping things organized, and supporting programs that make a difference for children and families in our community, we'd love to connect with you.

We're looking for someone with:
• An AA/AS degree
• At least 3 years of related experience (or a combination of education and experience that adds up to 5+ years in administrative/financial work)
• Experience with data entry, payment systems, accounts payable, or finance/IT systems is a plus
• Financial or software certifications are a plus

At CAPSLO, every role plays a part in strengthening our communities, and this position is no exception.

Mid-year impact update! 🏠💙Between January 1 and June 30, 2026, CAPSLO's Housing & Homeless Services worked tirelessly across San Luis Obispo County to deliver critical stability to our neighbors in need.

Through CAPSLO's comprehensive housing programs and homelessness prevention efforts over 250 households successfully exited into housing stability. That is over 300 individuals supported on their path toward permanent shelter.

These figures reflect vital prevention interventions—stopping housing crises before they started and ensuring families and individuals remained safely housed instead of facing homelessness on our streets. Every single exit represents a neighbor equipped with safety, dignity, and a place to call home. This work is only possible thanks to our hard-working case managers, local partners, and generous community supporters.

From our shelter to a warm homecoming 🏡✨

After experiencing homelessness in SLO County for nearly a decade, one of CAPSLO's clients is heading home to reunite with family! Thanks to swift collaboration between our outreach and shelter teams, we were able to connect with her family during intake and she is officially on her way home.

This reunification highlights the power of community partnerships. Massive gratitude to the CAPSLO Outreach Team at St. Stephen’s, the SLO City MCU/CAT teams, and CAPSLO's dedicated Outreach & Engagement Specialist for tracking down, supporting, and safely transporting our client to start this next chapter.

We were excited to welcome Patty, our new Spanish instructor, to 40 Prado through our Day Habilitation Program!

Day Habilitation, funded by CenCal Health, provides participants with opportunities to develop valuable life skills through classes such as financial literacy, yoga, coping skills, Spanish, and much more. Patty brings a wealth of knowledge to the program, holding a Doctorate in Spanish and a passion for helping others learn.

We are incredibly grateful to Patty for taking on this new volunteer role and sharing her expertise with our participants. We can't wait to see our students build their language skills and become more confident, future bilingual speakers!

We are excited to once again welcome a new group of Psychiatric Technician students to 40 Prado for their clinical experience.

This ongoing partnership between CAPSLO's 40 Prado and Atascadero State Hospital continues to provide a valuable learning opportunity for students while creating meaningful connections with our participants.

Throughout their time at 40 Prado, students gain firsthand knowledge about the challenges and strengths of some of our community's most vulnerable individuals. They also participate in our Day Habilitation Program, spending time with participants through activities like bingo, arts and crafts, board games, and card games that encourage socialization, learning, and fun.

We are grateful for this amazing collaboration and look forward to another successful clinical season filled with learning, compassion, and community engagement!
