Friends of 40 Prado The homeless services center at 40 Prado Road in San Luis Obispo will provide emergency shelter and l Nearly $2 million has been secured from public sources.

This innovative, sobriety-based facility will consolidate existing day and night services for San Luis Obispo County’s under one roof. Current estimates indicate $4.5 million will be required to fully fund the land acquisition, construction, permits and fees, and infrastructure. Thanks to the collaboration of the City and County of San Luis Obispo, non-profit agencies and the business sector, the land for the 40 Prado Road project is owned free and clear.

☀️ THE COOLING CENTER AT 40 PRADO IS OPEN ☀️

Due to the current Heat Advisory, CAPSLO's Prado Homeless Services Center is open today and tomorrow to provide a safe, air-conditioned space for our community.

📍 Location: 40 Prado Road, San Luis Obispo
📅 Dates: Wednesday, July 21
⏰ Hours: 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM

Services Provided (No Cost):
❄️ Cool place to rest & escape the heat
🚿 Showers, laundry services, & hygiene items
🐕 Pets welcome! We have secure outdoor kennels for vaccinated pets/ESAs, and vaccinated registered service animals are welcome inside.

(Guests must be in good standing; unenrolled guests will complete a quick, simple screening assessment upon arrival).

We had the pleasure of welcoming Alpha Chi Omega back to 40 Prado for the second year in a row!
This amazing group of 30 enthusiastic volunteers completely organized our storage room, linens, and clothing closet. They also cleaned the children’s playroom and study area and even did some touch-up painting. Their hard work and energy make a huge difference for our community.

We are so thankful for our donors who support the vital work being done every day at 40 Prado. We are also very grateful for all the volunteers who give their time and energy helping others. Also, a huge thank you to all the people who work at the center and keep everything running 24/7. Happy Thanksgiving!!
