See how Fire Station 22's A Shift built a lasting bond with one of their patients and family. WESH 2 News from Kennedy Mason:

A 6-year-old girl and her family have formed a close relationship with Seminole County firefighters who saved her life after a critical accident three years ago.

Thank you WESH 2 News's Kennedy Mason for highlighting kitten save and for Seminole County Animal Services for providing a loving foster home until the kittens are old enough to be adopted.

Seminole County firefighters rescued two kittens that were trapped in a car engine and ensured they were placed in a foster home.

We had a blast at the Winter Springs Babe Ruth Opening Night. Engine 26 was there to support all the teams and many of our off-duty firefighters participated in a baseball tournament. Battalion Chief Gene VanEtten supported his son too, who is on one of the many teams. ⚾🚒❤️

🐈🐈 Station 26's A Shift was called after a resident heard meowing from his car. The two kittens were found in the engine compartment and were safe.

The kittens weighed a half pund each & are currently being fostered at Seminole County Animal Services as they are too small for adoption yet.

🚒 Learning about Engine 39!

Station 39 B Shift recently visited Action Kids - at Action Church's Heathrow location. The students learned about the Fire Engine and the work that firefighters do in the community.

Thank you, Action Church Academy, for having us! ❤️🚒

🎉Congratulations to these B Shift personnel on reaching a decade of service with the Seminole County Fire Department! 👏

Each firefighter was presented with a traditional leather helmet - a symbol of experience , dedication, and leadership. On emergency scenes, the leather helmet signifies years of service, and Command Officers often rely on these seasoned professionals to help lead critical operations.

Please join us in congratulating:
🔥Engineer Denver Connelly
🔥Engineer/Paramedic Matt DeCuir
🔥Engineer/Paramedic Sam Hollingshead
🔥Firefighter/Paramedic Francisco Rexach

🚒 to Station 25 in Casselberry, circa 2000!

Now Seminole County Fire Department Firefighter Jeron Lloyd (left) visited Station 25 with Oviedo Methodist Church preschool. Also in photo: Retired Lieutenant Andy Thompson showed the kids how to handle equipment.

More than 25 years later, memories like these remind us how long our crews have connected and inspirted the next generation of firefighters in our community ❤️🚒
