BIG WIN: Congrats to Abrey for winning the District-level Florida Farm Bureau Federation Speech Contest!🎉

Protecting Florida’s agriculture takes a united front. Abrey’s speech addressed how farmers, ranchers, local communities, and organizations like Farm Bureau can help guard against invasive species. 4-H AMBASSADORS: Congratulations to the Seminole County 4-H Ambassadors Leadership Team!

🍀Our Ambassadors help plan and support county 4-H programs, learn and practice leadership, build skills through teamwork, public speaking, service, and event planning, and make sure the youth voice is represented across Seminole County 4-H.

🍀Youth from across Seminole County 4-H are invited to join us for our next meeting on October 1 from 6:30-8 p.m. All youth are welcome! Youth under 4-H age 11 must be accompanied by a grown-up. We’d love to have you join us.

FAMILY, FOOD, & FUN: What happens when families mix teamwork, learning, and a little creativity in the kitchen? The 4-H Food Challenge Family Night!

Families came together for a hands-on evening of food preparation, food safety, and teamwork. From learning about the 4-H Food Challenge competition to building confidence in the kitchen to practicing proper food safety, participants discovered that preparing food can be more than just making a meal, it can be an opportunity to learn, communicate, cooperate, and connect.

REMINDER: Our office will be closed on Monday, September 7 for Labor Day.

LABOR DAY CLOSURES: Seminole County business offices will be closed on Monday, September 7, in observance of Labor Day. Offices will reopen on Tuesday, September 8.

The Central Transfer Station and Seminole County landfill will be open, and curbside service collection will run as normal. However, the Household Hazardous Waste Tunnel, located inside the Central Transfer Station, and the Customer Service department will be closed on Monday, September 7.

Seminole County Parks, Trails and Recreation will be open but unstaffed until 8 p.m. on Monday, September 7.

All Seminole County Library branches, Seminole County Animal Services, UF IFAS Extension Seminole County, UF IFAS Extension Seminole County 4-H, and the Museum of Seminole County History will be closed on Monday, September 7.

CYCLING & COMMUNITY: We had a blast at the Sanford Youth Cycling Rodeo & Family Festival on Saturday, August 29!

We enjoyed participating in this fun-filled day of cycling activities, family fun, bike safety education, and community connections! A huge thank you to Bicikleta Bike Shop, Bike/Walk Central Florida, Sanford Police Department, and Ladies 327, Inc. for helping make this amazing event possible!
