Dear Elohee family of facilitators, guests, donors and champions,
Fifteen years ago, our family dreamed of creating a place where people could reconnect with themselves, each other, and the natural world. More than anything, we hoped Elohee would become something that could serve people for generations to come. As I end each weekend of retreats, my heart fills with joy when I reflect on the connections made, the tears, the laughter, the slowing down, the ahhhhhhs.
Today, I'm excited to share an important milestone in my journey.
After fifteen years as Elohee's Founder and Executive Director, I believe the time has come for the next chapter of leadership. We are beginning the search for a new Executive Director, and I will be transitioning out of my day-to-day leadership role.
This decision comes from a place of deep love for Elohee and an even deeper commitment to its future. I believe that the healthiest organizations are those that grow beyond their founders. If Elohee is to flourish for generations, it needs leadership that is built to last beyond any one person.
The beautiful truth is that Elohee has never been built by me alone. It has become what it is today because of the generosity, wisdom, creativity, and dedication of so many people—our staff, facilitators, volunteers, board members, teachers, donors, and guests. Elohee is not the work of one person; it is the work of a community. As we enter this next chapter, I look forward to continuing to build that "us."
While I will be stepping away from my role as Executive Director, I am not leaving Elohee. I will continue serving on our Board of Directors and will assume a new role as Founder-in-Residence, focusing on stewarding the vision and values that have guided Elohee from the beginning while supporting the next leader as they build upon all that we have created together.
To help us find that leader, we have engaged LeaderFit, a nationally recognized executive search firm with extensive experience serving mission-driven organizations. I chose them because of their commitment to finding leaders who lead with both excellence, intentionality and heart. They will partner closely with us throughout this process, and I will remain actively involved alongside Michael, Carolyn, Andy, Micki, and our staff.
This search begins today, and we will approach it with the same care, intention, and values that have shaped Elohee from the beginning. We hope to welcome our new Executive Director by the end of the year.

I encourage you to share the role with your community and direct specific questions, recommendations, or nominations to Karelle Fonteneau [email protected] or Annie Linehan Czerwinski [email protected] at LeaderFit.
Thank you for believing in this vision and for helping make Elohee what it is today. It has been the greatest privilege of my life to build this community alongside you, and I have complete confidence that Elohee's brightest days are still ahead.
With deep gratitude,
Eve Cook
