MRS 2-A had the pleasure of welcoming Soldier Recovery Unit- Fort Stewart to our annual Take A Soldier Fishing event on October 26. It was a great day out on the water despite a foggy start. The fish were plentiful, and a wonderful time was had by all. Plans are already underway for next year!

Coastal Chatham Search and Rescue Team and Coffee Bluff Marine Rescue Squadron joined forces this past Saturday for a joint training mission. Hardeeville Marine Rescue Squadron 2B sent several members to oversee the operation, as well. It was a successful day. Thank you to all those that participated, especially those who manned the grill for a wonderful post rescue lunch!

Coffee Bluff MRS was honored to welcome Soldier Recovery Unit - Fort Stewart to our annual Take A Soldier Fishing event. To say it was an absolutely amazing day is an understatement. Beautiful weather, awesome participants, great fishing, and delicious food...couldn't have been better. Sending a huge thank you out to all our soldiers who spent the day with us! Our squadron has been working hard to prepare for this event for many months, and it paid off in big ways. Extremely grateful to all involved (Gearry Caudell, David Sloan, Scott and Michael McAllister, Jason O'Kane, Tyler Hooks, Scott Harman, Del Love, Denis Robertson Jr, Ronnie Hinely, Joe Kreger, John Scarborough, Scott Decker, Denis Robertson, and our Ladies Auxiliary)! It'll be hard to top this year, but we're sure going to try to next year!

FYI.

ATTENTION SAVANNAH BOATERS:
There are new concrete pilings forming a rectangular section of river bottom that have been placed in the Bull River just upriver from the old fish haven.
(Oyster farming?)
These pilings don't appear to be lit and are not going to be on your chart plotter. You could strike one of these in the dark.
Use caution...
(Thanks to Captain Michael Mosely for warning about these.)
