Seattle CityClub

In 1980, eight women got together to form Seattle CityClub. At the time, many civic organizations, such as Rotary International, were open to men only.

Seattle CityClub is a nonpartisan, 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization improving the civic health of the Puget Sound region by providing programs that bridge politics, sectors and generations to inform and engage residents and community leaders. The founders of Seattle CityClub determined that their new organization would be open to all and would provide a nonpartisan forum for ideas and debate. Since its first program in 1981, CityClub has sponsored thousands of dialogues, discussions and candidate forums featuring local, regional and national experts and leaders. What We Stand For
Passionate Non-Partisanship | Civic dialogue that reflects our community’s diverse political ideologies, cultures and socioeconomic backgrounds. Leader Access and Accountability | Active exchange of ideas that foster accountability and engagement between residents, experts and policymakers. Respectful Conversation | Lively and respectful forums that cultivate open and civil debate. Connection and Collaboration | Partnerships that bring together people and ideas to address critical issues.
