Mohamed Rage was charged today with one count of Murder in the 2nd Degree and one count of unlawfully possessing a firearm. On May 27th, Shakopee Police Department responded to Canterbury Park on a weapons complaint. Officers
learned that an individual had been shot, was in the parking lot in front of the Expo Center, and the shooter was no longer on scene. Upon arrival, officers saw a large crowd of people in front of the Expo Center and saw Victim lying on his back receiving medical attention. Victim was conscious, alert and breathing. Victim was able to identify himself by name. Officers observed a gunshot wound to Victim's chest and observed an injury to his chin. Victim stated that he could feel himself "filling up with blood" in his chest and stomach area. Victim was transported from the scene via ambulance to the Hennepin County Medical Center (HCMC) for further medical care. On the scene, officers spoke to Victim's wife, A.D.Y., who stated that Victim and herself were exiting the Expo center when they were approached by a male, later identified as Rage. A.D.Y. stated that Rage told Victim that he wanted to fight him. Victim told Rage "Please leave me alone, I don't want to fight." A.D.Y. stated that Victim and herself were walking through the
parking lot to go home and Defendant followed them. A.D.Y. did not know how close Rage was to Victim when he shot him but stated that Victim tried to run. Victim passed away at the HCMC.

Attended the Forty-Third Annual Scott County Law Enforcement Memorial Scholarship Dinner being held at Minnesota Horse and Hunt Club. Trace Smith of Savage, Maddox Csiki of Prior Lake, Jared Milinkovich of Lonsdale and Matthew Weierke of Shakopee were the scholarship award recepients. All the winners come from Scott County, one is a marine, three of them already have conditional offers as a licensed peace officer, two of them with a Scott County agency. I had the honor as a volunteer for Beyond the Yellow Ribbon- South of the River to attend the PL/Savage High School Senior Enlistee dinner. Following dinner we went over to the Savage Council meeting and I introduced the enlistees to the council where they were recognized. Thank you City of Savage - Government for taking the time and provding resources to recognize these individuals.

Had the privilege of being an instructor at the Minnesota Chapter of the International Association of Arson Investigators (MNIAAI) Arson Investigators/Prosecutors Seminar. Prosecutors from throughout the state learned about "Origin and Cause Investigations", criminal statutes and strategies for successfully prosecuting arson cases.
