Sheffield Police would to thank everyone involved in assisting us with the fire today. Thanks to Sheffield Fire, Tuscumbia Fire, Colbert EMA and Muscle Shoals Police Department. This could have turned into a very bad situation, but thanks to quick actions from these agencies we were able to get some residents to safer zones while fire were able to concentrate at the task at hand. Thanks again to everyone involved.

Sheffield Police would like to recognize our officers today, who did not hesitate to spring into action after an inmate set a mattress on fire. We would like to personally thank Captain Haynes, Sgt. Evans, Officer Briggum, Officer Michael and C.O.Pope for there actions today. Captain Haynes and Sgt. Evans were able to quickly extinguish the fire and get inmates outside to safety. We what to thank Sheffield Fire, Colbert County Sheriff's Department, Colbert EMA, Keller EMS and the State Fire Marshall for their assistance.
