🚨 Struck Box - Farm Pond Water Incident

Sherborn Firefighters were sent to Farm Pond this evening for a report of people yelling “help” from the island on the pond. A swimmer was in medical distress and was able to get onto the island to await help.

An off-duty Sherborn Firefighter was with the patient in just a few moments. Other members worked to deploy our boat to retrieve the patient and then provide medical care.

Ambulance 1 was returning from the hospital due to another call and responded along with ALS from Framingham. SFRD Car 1, Car 2, Car 5, L1, L5, L7 and Engine 6 also responded along with Squad 1 and the boat.

One year ago today, the SFRD family took a big hit with the loss of our brother, Firefighter Anthony E. Luoni, after he suffered a medical emergency at home.

Not a day goes by that we don’t think of Anthony. His impact is still felt within the walls of our station and in our hearts each and every day we serve at the SFRD.

Recently, the department dedicated the “Anthony Luoni Firefighter of the Year Award” in his honor, as Anthony was the first member to receive this award when it was started in 2021.

We will never forget you, Anthony.

Sherborn Firefighters spent some time this afternoon with our new friends Teddy & Philip after they accidentally locked Mom out of the house.

Our members were able to gain access into the home (and to our two friends) without causing any damage while the Chief kept an eye on them through a window.

*Sesame Street was on the television - Elmo and Big Bird were a big help in this rescue effort.

Call us if you need us. We are here for you!

Different departments. Same team.

Sherborn Car 2, Car 5 & Engine 4 all responded to Holliston this evening on their working fire assignment for a building fire. After the emergency was over, our members pitched in to help clean up and get all Holliston apparatus back to service. That’s what this photo portrays - a true team effort to get the job done.

Great work by Holliston Firefighters kept this fire from destroying an entire home. SFRD units were committed for about an hour before returning to Sherborn.

Sherborn Firefighters responded to a report of a carbon monoxide alarm sounding at a home early this morning. Car 5, Engine 4 & Ambulance 1 all responded and worked.

Firefighters found high readings of carbon monoxide using metering equipment. Our members worked to identify the source, which was a generator, and isolate the incident to one area of the building. Firefighters then ventilated the building and brought the situation under control.

🚨 Small Outside Fire and Motorcycle Accident 🚨

Sherborn Firefighters were sent to a home for a reported brush fire that was very close to a small building. A Dover Tanker was requested as a precaution due to our Tanker being out for repairs.

SFRD members found a small fire that was caused by a pool pump malfunction. Engine 4 & Engine 6 worked to ensure the fire was completely extinguished and disconnected power to the unit.

About two hours later, our members were sent for a reported of a motorcycle vs. car with the operator potentially trapped under the vehicle. Boston MedFlight was put on standby to respond.

The motorcycle operator was transported by Sherborn Ambulance 1 with ALS from Framingham to a trauma center in Boston.
