This past Sunday, SFRD members were honored to once again host Paul Veneto of Paulie's Push. Paul is pushing an airline beverage cart from Boston to New York in honor of the flight attendants killed on September 11th, 2001.

Deputy Chief Scott Christensen and Probationary Firefighters Leah O'Brien and Sam Van Blarcom each joined Paulie in his push, each pushing a beverage cart from Sherborn Fire Station 1 to the Holliston town line.

Congratulations to Deputy Fire Chief Scott Christensen for hitting his 25-year mark with the SFRD today!

Deputy Christensen became an SFRD member on this day in 2001. He was promoted to Lieutenant in 2020 and to Deputy Fire Chief in January of 2025. He is a certified Fire Officer, EMT, and is a Certified Rescue Diver.

He is a complete professional who truly loves the job.

The Town of Sherborn is excited to begin the study of possible improvements to the Route 27/Route 16 split and the roadway intersections in the village center. Public outreach and communications will begin soon. The below includes a QR code to access a link to be added to the contact list for communications. Much more to come.

The Town has received $1,500,000 in grants to begin study and advance the design of this project.

Congratulations to Firefighter Ed Shoemaker for recently hitting his 20-year mark with the SFRD!

Ed joined our ranks after serving as a member of the Dover Fire Department. He's a drone operator, paramedic and he also serves as our in-house helicopter pilot (we have to specify; we also have an airplane pilot or two). His specialty is driving and operating Ladder 1.

Extreme Heat Warning for Sherborn

Due to extreme heat conditions this week, Sherborn residents can get relief from the heat through the following options:

Wednesday & Thursday
Stop by the Sherborn Library to escape the heat during their normal business hours from 10am to 8pm.

Friday & Saturday
Call the Sherborn Fire Dispatcher at (508)653-3270 ext. 1 and we will assist you. This can also be used at any time someone needs relief from the heat.

🚨 Struck Box - Reported Electrical Fire

Sherborn Firefighters responded to a report of electrical outlets on fire. SFRD members responded with Engine 6*, Engine 2, Ladder 1 & Ambulance 1 and found a problem with a small appliance.

*Engine 6 is running in place of Engine 4 while it is out of service for repairs.
