Fayette Cares is a 501(c)3 non profit charitable organization empowering those in need with solutions to end homelessness, break the cycle of domestic violence, and create stability and self-sufficiency from crisis. 💜 Stronger Together: Domestic Violence Prevention & Training 💜

Another successful Lethality Assessment Program (LAP) and Domestic Violence Prevention Training with the Somerville Police Department! 👏

Fayette Cares Victim Advocates Kelsey and Maigyn shared important ways to support survivors of domestic violence, including:

💜 Understanding the dynamics of abusive relationships
💜 Taking survivors seriously and listening without judgment
💜 Creating safety plans to help protect survivors
💜 Protecting confidential information to help keep survivors safe

What is the Lethality Assessment Program (LAP)?

LAP is a tool we train officers to use during domestic violence calls to identify victims who may be at high risk of serious harm. When a victim is identified as high danger, officers connect them with a Fayette Cares advocate or trained volunteer so they can speak with a domestic violence professional right away.

This immediate connection can be a critical step toward safety, support, and life-saving resources. 💜

Preventing domestic violence takes teamwork, education, and a community that cares. We are grateful to partner with law enforcement professionals who are committed to protecting survivors and strengthening our community's response to domestic violence.

🍚🫘We're full of gratitude for the team at Riviana and their generous donation of ready meals including rice and beans!

Many of our clients are working families, including single parents who may be juggling more than one job while trying to provide for their children.

Sometimes, children come home to an empty house and need to prepare something for themselves . Other times, a parent comes home exhausted after a long day, still facing homework, baths, and all the responsibilities of caring for a family. Having something nutritious, quick, and easy to prepare can make a real difference in their day.

We are also mindful of the many older adults we serve, who live on very small, fixed incomes. When utility bills, gasoline, and grocery prices climb, they have no wiggle room in their budgets. Every unexpected increase can make difficult choices between food, medication, and keeping the lights on.

For struggling families economic pressures can be especially difficult. What a blessing it is to have partners like Riviana Foods who understand that caring can make a tremendous difference!

🎶💜 Fayette Cares Featured at Arlington Music in the Park! 💜🎶

What a wonderful evening of music, community, and connection! Fayette Cares was honored to be the featured nonprofit organization at Arlington Music in the Park, where we had the opportunity to share our mission and raise awareness about the services we provide to individuals and families in need.

A heartfelt thank-you to Patton Plumbing Heating & A/C for choosing us as their charity partner!

💜 Amy Oliver shared a touching and powerful message about the impact Fayette Cares has on her and other individuals experiencing homelessness, crisis, and domestic violence. Her words were a meaningful reminder of why our work matters and how important it is to ensure that help, hope, and support are available to those who need them.

🎸 A big shout-out to Generation X for providing great music and helping make the evening so enjoyable!

One of the most powerful takeaways from the night was realizing just how close domestic violence is to home. Throughout the evening, Amy and Maigyn spoke with people who shared that they either knew someone who had experienced domestic violence or had experienced an abusive relationship themselves. These conversations reminded us that domestic violence affects every community, and .

🎡 The kids had a blast with our spinning prize wheel, too! They enjoyed learning a fact about domestic violence or winning a prize, giving us a fun and age-appropriate way to start important conversations about safety, respect, and healthy relationships.

Thank you to the Arlington Chamber and everyone who stopped by our table, listened, shared their stories, and helped us spread awareness. Every conversation matters, every connection counts, and together we can build a community where everyone knows that help is available. 💜

💙Fayette Cares would like to extend our sincerest gratitude to Danielle Hinrichs and her family for their incredibly generous donation of an industrial-sized freezer to our food pantry!

This donation came at the perfect time! We were desperately in need of additional freezer space to safely store perishable food items for the individuals and families we serve. With this gift, we can better preserve food, expand storage capacity, and continue providing essential resources to our community.

Acts of generosity like this make a real difference in the lives of those facing difficult times. We are so grateful for community members who recognize a need and step forward to help meet it. ❤️

💜 A Great Day of Connections with the Arlington Chamber of Commerce! 💜

Fayette Cares had a wonderful time at the Arlington Chamber of Commerce October Membership Luncheon! 🥰

It was a great opportunity to connect with our community, raise awareness about domestic violence in honor of Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and meet other amazing nonprofits and organizations doing great work!

Alexandra had the opportunity to share a little about Fayette Cares, the work we do to support individuals and families, and how members of our community can get involved and support our mission. 💜

We love getting out into the community, sharing our story, and meeting people who are just as passionate about making a difference as we are! Days like these remind us that when we connect, collaborate, and support one another, great things can happen.

This powerful display serves as a reminder that domestic violence affects real people, real families, and entire communities. The empty place at the table represents a life impacted by domestic violence and reminds us of the individuals whose stories deserve to be heard and never forgotten.

🏘️ LAST WEEK TO VISIT THE VESTA HOME SHOW 2026! 💜

Fayette Cares advocates Kelsey and Maigyn had a wonderful time exploring the incredible, state-of-the-art homes at the West Tennessee Home Builders Association Vesta Home Show! From meeting talented builders and designers to admiring the beautiful homes, it was a fantastic opportunity to connect with our community and spread awareness about Domestic Violence Awareness Month. 💜

Domestic violence affects thousands of Tennessee families every year. The survivor may be a friend, a family member, a coworker, or someone you see every day. You may know someone experiencing domestic violence without even realizing it. A little kindness, a listening ear, and knowing where to turn for help can make a life-changing difference. 💜 IT’S PURPLE THURSDAY! 💜

Today, we wear purple to show our support for survivors of domestic violence and to remind our community that no one should have to face abuse alone.

Domestic Violence Awareness Month is more than a time to raise awareness—it’s an opportunity to recognize how deeply intimate partner violence affects our families, friends, coworkers, and neighbors. impacted by domestic violence.

Behind closed doors, too many women and men live with fear, control, and abuse. Leaving an abusive relationship can be dangerous, and without access to support, resources, and a safe place to turn, survivors may face significant barriers to escaping the cycle of violence.

💜 Training Today. Protecting Lives Tomorrow. 💜

Fayette Cares Victim Advocates, Kelsey Wilson and Maigyn Luthe, are committed to strengthening our community’s response to domestic violence through Lethality Assessment Program (LAP) training and comprehensive domestic violence education for Fayette County Sheriff's Office command staff and deputies.

Our law enforcement partners are often among the first people to respond when a domestic violence situation occurs. Equipping officers with the knowledge, tools, and resources to recognize the signs of escalating danger, assess risk, respond safely, and connect survivors with life-saving resources can make a meaningful difference.

Through LAP training, officers and deputies learn how to identify survivors who may be at heightened risk for serious injury or homicide and how to connect them with advocates and resources that can help increase their safety.

Domestic violence training also helps law enforcement better understand the patterns and dynamics of abuse, including coercive control, strangulation, stalking, intimidation, and other behaviors that may not always be immediately visible.

We are grateful to our local law enforcement who continue to learn, listen, respond, and stand alongside survivors in our community.
