๐Ÿ“š Kiwanis Members Hard at Work! ๐Ÿ“š

Our Kiwanis members rolled up their sleeves during a recent lunch meeting to stamp and prepare books for students as part of our Kiwanis Book Buddies literacy project.

These books are almost ready to find their way into the hands of students, where they can be read, enjoyed, shared with family and friends, and kept for their very own!

Weโ€™re excited to put books directly into the hands of children and help make reading more accessible, fun, and inspiring. ๐Ÿ“–โค๏ธ
A big thank you to our hardworking Kiwanians for turning a lunch meeting into a little literacy assembly line! ๐Ÿ˜‰

The Kiwanis Club of South San Francisco was honored to welcome Karyl Matsumoto, former Mayor and City Councilmember of South San Francisco, as our guest speaker.

Karyl shared an informative, engaging, and thought-provoking presentation, reflecting on her distinguished career in the public, private, and nonprofit sectors. Her stories of leadership, public service, and dedication to the community were both inspiring and insightful.
A lasting testament to her contributions is Karyl Matsumoto Plaza at the South San Francisco Caltrain Stationโ€”a beautiful public gathering space that proudly bears her name.

We were also delighted to welcome special guests Aysha Pamukcu, Chair of the South San Francisco Planning Commission, along with her husband, Tom, and their son, Linden.

Thank you, Karyl, for sharing your experiences and inspiring our members through your lifelong commitment to public service!

The Kiwanis Club of South San Francisco recently had the opportunity to tour Veterans Village in Colma. A special thank you to Stephanie Morgan, Coordinator of Veterans Village, for leading an informative and inspiring tour of the facility and sharing how it supports local veterans.

Our club was proud to donate much-needed household and kitchen items, food, and shopping carts to help veterans transitioning into stable housing. Seeing firsthand the impact of these donations was a wonderful reminder of what can be accomplished when a community comes together.

The Kiwanis Club of South San Francisco is a service organization made up of caring individuals dedicated to giving back. From supporting veterans and promoting literacy through our Kiwanis Book Buddies program, to awarding scholarships and assisting local children and families, we are committed to making a positive differenceโ€”one project at a time.

๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐ŸŽ‰ What a fun and festive 4th of July Celebration and Parade in South City!

The Kiwanis Club was excited to participate in South San Francisco's "America 250" 4th of July Parade and Picnic.
We were proud to have two vehicles in the motorcade! A huge thank you to Patrick Cheng and Vince Jones for decorating their vehicles and enthusiastically representing our club while promoting Kiwanis and our mission of serving the children of our community.

The celebration wrapped up at City Hall with music, entertainment, and hot dogs. It doesn't get much more All-American than that! ๐ŸŒญ๐ŸŽถ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ

Thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate our community and our nation's independence. Events like these remind us how fortunate we are to live in such a vibrant and caring community. We are proud to be part of this wonderful South San Francisco tradition!
